Project Background
It is a hydraulic brake part used for E-bike. Need a hardness of 85HB, and higher tensile strength, the most important is that the inner hold needs to be filled with oil, so it must be ensured the product is completely free of air holes or shrinkage.
Our customers are used to planning to choose hot forging processing, but because of its complex construction, it is hard to make its shape and the forging blank requires a large amount of machining, as we all know that machining always costs much.
So they found us and we helped to develop our squeeze casting processing.
Problems happened during the Developing
In the beginning, the biggest problem we encountered in the development of the mold was that due to the complex structure, it was difficult to eliminate the problem of pores inside the workpiece.
Developing Results
It took about 2 months and 4 times to adjust the mold structure and production process, and finally achieve a porosity defect rate within 0.5%.
Now mass production has been successfully put into operation, and we have signed a strategic cooperation with customers to produce more than 20000 pieces per month.
At the same time, the customer has 2 related new products designed and developed according to our squeeze casting process. Now mold has been finished and is waiting for customer review samples and start mass production.
